Yoga

Integrate mind, body and spirit to enhance overall health with yoga.

Yoga is a holistic approach to health and wellness that utilises the principles and practices of yoga to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

It involves personalised sessions, tailored to an individual's specific needs and health conditions.

If you’re feeling it, you are doing it.

Functional yoga acknowledges genetic and hereditary muscular differences, which in turn dictate the final outcome of the pose for each one of us. No two poses in a class will look exactly alike, so leave the ego comparison at the door ;-).

My 1-1 sessions and group classes are designed to serve everyone, irrespective of fitness level or former yoga experience.

Benefit from a functional yoga approach.

Physical benefits

Yoga can improve flexibility, strength, and balance. It helps alleviate physical ailments such as back pain, arthritis, and muscular tension. Through asanas (physical postures) and breathwork, it enhances overall bodily function.

Stress reduction

Through breathwork, meditation, and relaxation techniques, yoga therapy helps reduce stress levels. It encourages a mindful approach to daily life, promoting a sense of calm and inner peace.

Mental Health

Yoga incorporates mindfulness and meditation techniques, promoting mental clarity, stress reduction, and emotional balance. It can be beneficial for managing anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

Improved sleep

Many individuals experience better sleep quality after engaging in yoga. The combination of physical activity, relaxation, and breath awareness can contribute to a more restful night's sleep.

Emotional Resilience

The practice of yoga encourages self-awareness and emotional regulation. By fostering a connection between the mind and body, individuals may develop greater emotional resilience and coping mechanisms.

Body Awareness

Yoga focuses on body alignment and awareness, helping individuals improve their posture and prevent or alleviate issues related to poor alignment.

As a movement therapist offering yoga, my aim is to guide clients through personalised sessions that address their specific goals and challenges. As a trauma informed coach, my role is to be non-judgemental, offering a safe space for all, so everyone can enjoy the practice.

We don’t use the body to get into a pose, we use the pose to get into our body.

Types of Yoga I teach.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga targets connective tissue and contains relaxed muscles, long passive holds, a gentle stretch and slow movements. The mind turns inward, the heart rate slows and you become an observer of your own body and embrace the attitude of acceptance.

Vinyasa Yoga

A Vinyasa flow predominantly focuses on the upper body, targets muscle tightens and strengthens. We explore a fuller range of motion, quicker bursts of healthy stress with linking movement and breath, emphasis movement and mobility with mental alertness.

Nurture your body, calm your mind, and illuminate your spirit with tailored 1-1 sessions.
